One language (English is usually a compulsory subject in most
schools)
After the stream is chosen
, the big question is which optional subject should be selected?
- If you have selected Medical stream , choose
Music or Physical Education as an optional.
- If you have selected Non medical stream and you
want to pursue Engineering , opt for Computer Science C++ or engineering Drawing.
In Engineering courses (for any branch), you have to study programming in
C or C++
- If you have selected Arts/Humanities you
can opt for any optional subject.
- Remember one thing, don’t go by peer pressure.
You will find most of the students advocating for Physical Education, don’t
waste your 2 years in a subject which will not be useful afterwards.
Moreover Physical Education is no more scoring as the weightage for
theory has been increased to 70 (instead of 30).
- Some science students opt for Music as its weightage is 30 marks for theory and 70 marks
for practicals. But its of no use to students who wish to do Engineering.
If you are sincerely interested in Music, only then choose Music.
- Multimedia & Web Technology is a good
option if you are interested in creating websites and learning Animation
Technologies.
- Informatics Practices include JAVA Programming,
a bit tougher course.
